Green Bay, Wisconsin, hosted the NFL draft for the first time this year. The three-day event came to the home of one of the oldest franchises in the NFL and hundreds of thousands of fans flocked to the smallest market in the league for the festivities.
There were plenty of Green Bay Packers fans in attendance for their team's home draft. Those that were there got to see the franchise select Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden at No. 23 overall in Round 1 in the first pick of the team's draft class.
The former Longhorn was expected to go in the first round and was the third pure wide receiver off the board following Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan (No. 8 overall to the Carolina Panthers) and Ohio State's Emeka Egbuka (No. 19 overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers).
Green Bay wasn't done addressing the position with the Golden pick, though. The Packers bolstered the wide receiving corps again on Day 2 by selecting TCU wideout Savion Williams in the third round, No. 87 overall.
Those additions, plus undrafted free agent Julian Fleming of Penn State, means the Packers' depth chart at wide receiver looks a lot different than it did prior to the draft.

Green Bay currently has 13 wide receivers on its roster ahead of training camp. Here's what to know for about each player:
- Romeo Doubs
- Fourth-round pick in the 2022 draft (No. 132 overall). Had a career-best 674 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 2023.
- Matthew Golden
- First-round pick in the 2025 draft. Fastest wide receiver in the 40-yard dash at the 2025 NFL combine (4.29 seconds).
- Jayden Reed
- Second-round pick in the 2023 draft (No. 50 overall). Led the team in receptions (55) and receiving yards (857) in 2024.
- Savion Williams
- Third-round pick in the 2025 draft. One of the more dynamic size-speed athletes in the class at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds who needs some refinement in route running.
- Christian Watson
- Second-round pick in the 2022 draft (No. 34 overall). Had a career-best 620 receiving yards in 2024 but has missed 13 games over his first three years in the NFL.
- Dontayvion Wicks
- Fifth-round pick in the 2023 draft (No. 159 overall). Set a career-best with five receiving touchdowns in 2024.
- Malik Heath
- Signed with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent in 2023. Started two games over his first two seasons with the team.
- Julian Hicks
- Signed with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent in 2024. Spent his rookie season on the Packers' practice squad.
- Mecole Hardman
- Signed with the Packers in free agency this offseason. Won three Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs (2019, 2022, 2023) and was a second-team All-Pro kick returner in 2019.
- Cornelius Johnson
- Undrafted free agent who was on the Los Angeles Chargers' practice squad before moving to the Packers' practice squad early in the 2024 season.
- Tulu Griffin
- Undrafted free agent in 2024 who signed with the Packers as a reserve/future contract in late January.
- Bo Melton
- Seventh-round pick in the 2022 draft (No. 229 overall) to the Seattle Seahawks. Signed by the Packers in December 2022.
- Julian Fleming
- Signed with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent.
Packers WR contracts
Of those 13 wide receivers, nine of them are not under contract after 2025. Watson, Hardman, Doubs, Wicks, Melton, Heath, Johnson, Hicks and Griffin are all set to hit free agency next offseason.
Only Golden, Williams, Reed and Fleming are under contract for the 2026 NFL season.
